Teaching the Importance of Guam's Liberation to the next Generation

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE The Pacific War Museum is proud to announce the opening of its Children’s Interactive rooms at the Discovery Learning Center (Behind ITC in Tamuning).

Mel Gerber, the Museum’s President and wife of the late Sergeant John Gerber and Museum Founder said,

“In our mission statement, the Pacific War Museum is committed to provide a place for our children to develop, learn and understand America’s strengths and values. What better way to accomplish this objective by launching custom programs to educate school aged children on WWII history with an emphasis on the impact on Guam and its people.”

Gerber added,

“The lessons and stories from the liberation of Guam at the end of WWII have created one of the most patriotic communities in America, with one of every six local residents joining the Armed Forces. We look at this project as doing our part to Sharpen the tip of the sphere.”

The classes will consist of beginner and advanced LEGO courses using scaled WWII themed model sets from Brickmania and BrickArms, historical presentations and other programs curated by historians, enthusiasts and educators in a classroom and theater setting, designed for school field trips, homeschool co-ops and visiting tourists. Classes will commence by our soft opening on September 24, 2023. Reservations for field trips will be accepted beginning Oct 1, 2023. Interested schools, co-ops and educational institutions can email Anna Calvo at anna.calvo@guampacificwar.org to schedule a class visit for SY 2023-2024.
